How do intercultural competences, social innovation, and co-creativity intersect to create truly inclusive global education experiences?

CASCADE AT EAIE

How do intercultural competences, social innovation, and co-creativity intersect to create truly inclusive global education experiences?Last week at the EAIE: European Association for International Education Conference in Toulouse, Guido de Wilde and Mark Majewsky Anderson from the Cascade Foundation took to the stage together for the first time combining their passion for intercultural competences and social innovation and co-creativity for a day long workshop for delegates. Fellow Cascader, Isabell Majewsky Anderson, also joined us as a guest speaker graciously allowing the participants to interview her about the inspiring project NICE: the Network for Intercultural Competence to facilitate Entrepreneurship. Her insights added unique value to our discussions and sparked even more creative thinking.

Following this full-on one day workshop, Isabell and Mark presented a session specially focussed on embedding social innovation within institutions to enhance internationalisation and prepare for the massive upheaval we can expect with the development of AI and other technologies. When he was not presenting workshops, Mark was recording interviews with delegates for a new podcast series “Unheard Voices and Inspiring Initiatives”.

A huge thank you to all those who took part in the interviews and to the participants of the workshops, who were made to work extremely hard with our interactive exercises! It was amazing to see the energy and dedication from senior university managers from across the world. We all immersed ourselves in the complexities of designing inclusive global learning experiences together and everyone’s engagement made the conference truly unforgettable.
